Inciting Incident
So an inciting incident is pretty much an event in a book or movie that leads up to another event that really gets the story moving and makes it very interesting. An inciting incident in my life would probably be when I got pregnant. It caused me to grow up, get a job, and learn the struggles of life. So now I'm almost 18 years old, with a 9 month old, a part time (25 hours/week) job, and school on top of doctors appointments, shopping, and having to budget money to save for things that I may need or her. I don't really get to hang out with my friends much. I stay at home and take care of her. I still live with my parents so I have them plus 2 brothers and 2 sisters in my house. It's very hard to be a single teen mom who does all the things that I do but I do it and I do it well. :)

So we are reading the book "The Road'' by Cormac McCarthy. I read the first 17 pages and so far it's pretty good. The only things that have happened right now is they've slept and woke up and then found some oil at an old shop and stuff like that. So nothing too interesting. But the man has said in the book that if they get wet, they could die because it's so cold. They are heading towards the south because they want to be warm, even if there is nothing waiting for them there. They are probably the only ones alive where they are. There's no people, no cars, no businesses, nothing. I haven't figured out why yet. Kinda anxious to see what comes up nextt.
