Below you will find pictures of the item, the price, and where you can pick it up. Enjoy!

ACCESSORIES
Accessories are by far one of the easiest ways to update your wardrobe for fall. Get in on the new trends for less!

Skinny belts aren't just for the eighties anymore. Use them to spruce up a cardigan or plain shirt. This snakeskin embossed belt comes in black, purple, and red(shown) and is only $2.50 at forever21.com
Romantic and vintage pieces are back this fall and this vintage inspired rhinestone ring is a great way to embrace that. It's only $4.00 at charlotterusse.com!

These radial jeweled black earrings are a cheap fix to punch up the fanciness of an outfit. You can find them for $8.80 at forever21.com

Stacking bracelets and big cuff bracelets are in for the fall. I love this big rhinestone magnetic bracelet from forever 21.com It comes in silver and black (shown) and gold and black. $14.40

It's all about the statement necklace, and this City Bright colored stone necklace from nyandcompany.com certainly will make a statement. And it's only $14.97!

I love pearls and metal stands together, and this is a beautiful necklace accented with a pretty little flower. You can get it for $13.77 at nyandcompany.com.

PURSES AND SHOES
It was a tad more challenging to find cute purses and shoes for under $20 but I did it! This hobo satchel from nyandcompany.com is prretty and has great utility. It is $18.47 and comes in six colors: purple(shown), black, mossy green, orange, cream and cranberry.

I unfortunately couldn't get a better picture of this one. But it is a crocodile embossed purse and it is a great all purpose piece for fall. You can find it (and a better picture of it) on charlotterusse.com for $19.99.

Boots for under $20? It's true. These slouchy boots can be found in black, brown(shown), and taupe at gojane.com for $19.99! Who doesn't love a good pair of boots, especially when they are so inexpensive!

I love these peeptoe wedges from oldnavy.com! I think they could look great with jeans or with tights and a skirt. They come in three colors: blue/brown (shown), black/khaki and black. They are $20 at oldnavy.com.

I love heels! These would be great to wear for office attire or with jeans. They come in 4 colors: gray(shown), purple, teal and black. And they are only $17.90 at gojane.com.

CLOTHES

Jeans are particularly difficult to find at a great price, especially when you are tall like me! I love skinny jeans and if you don't own a pair, you can try these for a very affordable $14.99 at jcpenney.com

If skinny jeans are not your cup of tea, then you can try these Old Navy Flirt Flare jeans for only $20 at oldnavy.com

Frills make me giddy and this lacy bow shirt from forever21.com is no exception. This shirt would look great layered under a cardigan or fitted blazer. You could dress it up with a skirt or down with jeans, and for only $19.80 it would be a great addition to your closet.

Cardigans are a staple piece to have for fall and winter. This long variety looks great buttoned up or unbuttoned and cinched with a skinny belt. This particular cardigan comes in seven colors: black, teal, cranberry, gold(shown), brown, cream and black. Find it at nyandcompany.com for $19.97.
Vests are a cute way to layer for fall. This simple vest has a lacy racer back to punch up the look a bit. It comes in
black and gray and can be found on jcpenney.com for $14.99.
This is is quite possibly the best deal of them all. Incorporate this season's motorcycle jacket trend with this great knit moto jacket from forever21.com. It comes in black, royal blue (my favorite), gray and cream and is only $15.50!
Happy Shopping !!

Flip-Flop Follow-Up

Okay, I know I somewhat knocked using flip-flops as the go-to shoe in my last post. I am not saying everyone should stop wearing flip-flops altogether, but am rather saying that they can tend to leave your overall appearance looking unpolished (especially ones you've had for years that are faded and falling apart). Below I am offering some alternatives to the flip-flop for summer at affordable prices. Take it or leave it. :-)

Metallics:

Metallics have become the new neutrals, giving us more options than merely brown or black to go with an outfit.

I love t-strap sandals, these are especially feminine and chic, and
will go with almost anything. You can find this pair at gojane.com for $17.90. Gojane.com is an extremely affordable website where you can find a lot of the latest trends in shoes.

I found this gold pair of sandals to be very unique without being too flashy (I know some of you don't like to get too crazy) You can find this pair at Old Navy for $19.50

Gladiator Sandals:
This is one of the most popular new trends, and I do realize it is not for everyone, but I find them to be very sexy. They literally come in every color and can go up your calf or can be even lower on the ankle than the one pictured. You can find the pair shown on gojane.com for $18.00

The Wedge Sandal:
Those of you who hate wearing tall stilettos, rejoice! They make lower, adorable wedges that should pair nicely with skirts, dresses or dressy shorts. You can find this pair for $22.99 at Payless.

The Ballet Flat:
I am definitely a high-heel girl myself, but I do love a great ballet flat to wear with jeans or shorts on occasion. They make these shoes in every color and pattern imaginable. The red ones pictured can serve as a great neutral if you are wearing black, brown, gray or blue. You can find them at gojane.com for $15.80.

Hope this was helpful. Happy shoe shopping!

Fashion Faux Pas

It's time for me to to preach it, this is the hour of deliverance...be saved my children! Let my fashion advice fill you up!

I have been meaning to blog on this topic for awhile, but some of the monstrosities I saw at the mall yesterday made me realize this can wait no longer. If you do any of the following my friends...cease immediately. Also, please help the fashion offenders around you to purge any objectionable wardrobe, you will be doing your country a great service.

Major offenses:

1. Denim jacket coupled with denim pants.

Oh boy. I am pretty sure the denim jacket is almost dead by itself without having the accompaniment of the blue jeans. For one, thing the colors never match up, and for another it pretty much makes you look like Billy Ray Cyrus circa "Achy Breaky Heart." Women and Men both do this apparently, and I saw a couple in the grocery store that had matching sleeveless denim "jackets" tapered blue jeans and matching mullets. I thought I might have been in a nightmare but turns out it was just the produce isle. If you own an ill-fitting denim jacket (especially if it is acid wash), follow these instructions: Open trash can, insert denim jacket.

2. Crocs.

I know I am gonna get some haters on this one. Crocs have got to be the most hideous shoes ever invented! They are plastic shoes with holes in them for sobbing out loud! I honestly do not care how "comfortable" they are, they were invented as gardening shoes. The garden is exactly where they should stay, buried partially under dirt, concealing their repulsiveness from the world. It seems people feel it perfectly acceptable to get a dark pair and wear them with dress pants to work! It is all too much. The ending of the Crocs era cannot come soon enough!

3. Holiday Sweaters/Apparel.

I have made my distaste for holiday attire so apparent, that I was given a Christmas sweatshirt last year as a gag gift. I am not sure who decided that people should look like their Christmas trees, but it needs to stop. I saw a lady with an easter bunny sweatshirt on yesterday. I know people think this is cute and fun, but someone should inform them otherwise. The finest example of this is the shirts that light up or blink....stop the madness.

4. Guys in skin tight jeans.

Eww. Eww. Eww. I know that this whole emo/rock style is in for some people, but it just creeps me out when guys wear tighter jeans than I do. It is not manly, it is not attractive, and it looks plain silly when they are so tight to your ankles and you have bulky tennis shoes. I have a friend who works in retail that pointed out to me that guys are buying women's jeans, as in the same jeans I buy. Again Eww.

5. Ill-fit.

This is more of a generalization because there is two kinds of ill-fit: too big and too small. There is almost nothing more unsightly than muffin top. Why ladies? Why? Just buy the jeans in a bigger size, probably the shirt too. I know its not fun to go up a size, but trust me its better than looking like you have an inner tube around your belly. We saw a girl when we were out the other night, that had full muffin top going on and a teeny tiny vest, she looked so silly, I don't think her friends are very good friends to her at all, letting her go out like that. Just remember if you look like breakfast food, it is probably not your best look.
Too baggy. Some ladies/men have a major aversion to buying clothes that fit their bodies because they think it will show every ounce of fat that they have. The reality is, buying clothes two sizes too big makes you look like the Goodyear blimp. Embrace the hotness folks. :-)

6. Age appropriateness.

This one can get touchy because no one wants to grow up, but truthfully you can look hot at any age, and this happens when you dress your age. I am 26, and I have long given up on the baby t-shirts from American Eagle, Abercrombie or any baby-t with the witty sayings on them. They are for teenagers, plus unless you have no boobs and are ultra skinny, the fit is never right. So ladies who are in their 30's and 40's who are wearing shirts that say "Flirt" or "Angel" or whatever the cutesy saying may be look like they are trying way too hard. This goes for hoochie shorts and mini skirts as well. I am not saying go dress like an old lady either, I am just saying if you are over 25 stop buying teenage girl clothes and get yourself a hot skirt and a chic shirt to feel sexy!!

7. Flip-flops as your go-to shoe.

With summer approaching, I feel the need to address this one. Flip-flops (or flop-flops as I call them) do not go with everything. In fact, unless they are bejeweled, or leather or are in some way dressy, they can really over-casualize a look. I know they are an easy solution as you are heading out the door and they are cheap so you can own like 60 pair, but its time to up the ante a bit. Buy yourself some nice sandals (gladiator, crocodile, and metallics are big this season) and your look will instantly be more pulled together.

This is all of my ranting for now. But stay tuned I am sure I can think of more...

Does anyone have any fashion faux pas that drive them crazy?

Oops! Clumsy Me

Anyone who knows me, knows that I am ridiculously clumsy and somewhat haphazard in my movement. This weekend alone, I made a couple of embarrassing blunders. The first, came in a grocery store, I went to reach for a box of cake mix and effectively knocked over about 5 other boxes. I always wonder what people think of me when I do stuff like that. Okay, so anyway, about 10 minutes later I hit a wet spot in the store with my heels on and about bit it, luckily I caught myself, but still it's embarrassing. You always hope no one saw, but the reality is at least 20 people saw. Oy! Then yesterday I was getting around for church and I knocked a bottle of black nail polish off of the bathroom counter, and it shattered sending black everywhere, onto my walls, onto the floor (which is fortunately tile). It took some time and a half a bottle of nail polish remover to get it up, and not 5 minutes later I knocked my makeup bag onto the floor sending things flying everywhere. UGH!

Some classic Kassi moments of clumsiness were the time I fell of a bench that I was firmly planted on for seemingly no reason, and the time I walked straight into a door barrier/divider and got knocked onto my back at the movie theater. Nice.....

If anyone else remembers some clumsy moments of mine, please, feel free to share.

Does anyone else have this much trouble on a regular basis or is it just me?

Holiday Humbugs and Hoorays!

Well the holiday season is here and is getting crazier by the minute. I cannot turn around without a christmas tree, santa, or reindeer entering my visual peripheral. The holidays hold so much joy and yet so much frustration below I list my favorite and least favorite things about the "happy" holidays.

HUMBUGS!!!

1. INFLATABLE LAWN DECORATIONS!
I absolutely despise these eye-sores. Honestly!?! I would like to beat whoever invented these repeatedly. And it seems as though its not enough for people to have just one. There is literally a house near where I work that has an inflatable Grinch, Abominable Snowman, Santa Homer Simpson and an entire snowman family. Overkill much?

2. Crazy Christmas Lights!
I love Christmas lights when they are in good taste but it seems that there is a wave of people that think the crazier, the better. What I mean by this is that they buy the craziest colors, which is one problem, but on top of this they have them flashing and blinking in crazy patterns with no rhyme or reason. It's likely to give someone a seizure!

3. Busy Stores!
Granted, I realize that by saying this I am partially hypocritical, as I too am at these stores but my main beef with this is that people act like total maniacs. The are pushing each other aside trying to cram through the aisles as there life depended on it to get that Hannah Montana guitar. It is quite the ruckus and I think of the book "Lord of the Flies" every time as I wait for the savages to turn on one another.

4. Salvation Army Bell Ringers who harrass you!
I think it is great that these people are out there volunteering for such a great cause, however, some of them are a tad snide. There is pretty much a bucket at every store you go to now, and everytime I have some cash I try to help out, but there was a time when I haven't had cash that the bell ringer yelled something snide like "Merry Christmas to you too!" in a sarcastic voice! I really hope that I find that this was an isolated incident.

5. People that are hard to buy for!
There is nothing more stressful to me than not knowing what to get someone. Some people just buy everything they want/need, leaving the rest of us puzzled with what to get them. And whereas I would be elated with a gift card, some people consider buying gift cards for Christmas thoughtless and a faux pas. So then I just have to come up with something and cross my fingers, which I hate doing.

HOORAYS!!!

1. Getting together with family and friends!
The holidays give us all an "excuse" to get together with our family and friends. I love the abundance of Christmas parties and family Christmas get-togethers because it gives me the opportunity to see more of the people I love and see some that I generally only see a few times a year. Not to mention the food is AMAZING!

2. Christmas Music!
I love it that there are stations that play Christmas music 24/7! I can tune in at any time and get a little holiday cheer and it always gives me great reminders of childhood memories caroling and singing in the car with my family. Shirley Temple's "I want a Hippopotamus for Christmas" is my favorite and will always put me in a good mood.

3. Christmas Decorations!
I love fully decorated Christmas trees (see picture of the tree at my parent's house), and tasteful lights that twinkle through snowy nights. I especially love the way downtowns in cities decorate with their wreaths, holly and lights, its like being in a Thomas Kincade painting.

4. Getting the perfect gift for someone!
It is one of the greatest feelings to know you have got the most fitting gift for someone that you know they will love! Its like fireworks and watching the smile on their face when they open it adds to the joy.

5. Days off!
This one is self-explanatory!

What are your holiday humbugs and hoorays?

All the "Small" Things

Ahhh well at the risk of being predictable, I am about to get on the bandwagon and say what I am thankful for, but instead of listing all of the things I am obviously thankful for, I am going to list some of the little things in life that "float my boat."

I am thankful for when my daddy calls me "baby doll," because even though I am grown up now, it's still nice to know that I am daddy's little girl.

I am thankful that my mom calls to remind me about events, to tell me the roads are bad and check on me if she hasn't seen me, even though I tell her to "quit being a mom."

I am thankful for facebook (LOL) because it has re-connected me with a lot of college and high school friends.

I am thankful for my brother's harrassment towards me, because it makes me feel like a kid again.

I am thankful for sunshine, because you appreciate it so much more when you live in Michigan and don't see it for 4 months.

I am thankful for hugs, because who doesn't like a good hug?

I am thankful for YouTube for it hath provided me with many a laugh.

I am thankful that the Detroit Lions suck so bad because it has taught me patience. And this year we can add the Wolverines to that.

I am thankful for not being "normal." Because what fun is that?

What are the little things you are thankful for?
